40s Insights-At Folsom Prison

Preconceived Notions: nothing really…I thought it was gonna be Johnny Cash and it was.

After Listening:  I think Cash cracking up so much shocked me a little, I mean he barely has the pretense of being serious through most of the songs. It’s cool, it’s definitely an environment thing- and it showcases how absurdly tragic country music can really be.

Favorite Song: Either Greystone Chapel or Dark as a Dungeon.

Least Favorite: I hate train songs with harmonica.  Orange is out..

Grade: 4.5 This is a great live performance, on top of a unique setting and a performer having a legitimate good time.

40 has had training enough in classical theory to know roughly what he's talking about. As for talent, he considers himself a crappy guitar player. He has a BA in Audio & Sound Recording BA, so not only does music creation intrigue him, but also music production. He believes that expression takes all forms, and it has to be remembered that music is an art form and is ultimately about connection, communication, experimentation, creativity, freedom, emotion, and 100’s of other things.
