Preconceived Notions: The huge clunky verbose title makes me think I’m in Coheed territory.
Postconceived Notions: Time travel toLondonevery decade from the late 60s to the present, buy weed and mushrooms, and steal a record from the dude you scored from. Rinse, repeat.
Favored Tracks: Bunny Ain’t No Kind of Rider, She’s a Rejecter
Unfavored Tracks: The Past Is a Grotesque Animal- A 12 minute song? Are they trying to kill me? If this were a third the length, it’d be on the Fav list…
Overall: Wow. Delightfully cribbed hits of Acid-era Beatles, Bee Gees, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Joy Division, Queen, and Steven Trask stirred with clever winking lyrics in a New wave psychedelic discofunk gumbo. It has the feel of a single strange personality driving all the creativity. It easily could be a home studio creation from a multi-talented musician.
Extra Credit: There is no one album that will carry this same schizo-vibe, but listen to the Vapors- New Clear Days because you only know the worse song on that album.
