|Preconceptions: Its really hard to go back to the days before I had heard this. I remember hearing “Rock N Roll Star” which was the first single from their first album and liking it in 1994. By the time Morning Glory was being released I was already of fan of the band. I guess as far as this category goes, I had preconceptions that I would love it like I always do.
After Listening: I guess if I’m being super critical I could find fault with some of the lyrics, songs like Roll With It have fairly juvenile lyrics. I guess I never really listened to them very hard. I still love this, even though its not cool to do so.
Favorites: Don’t Look Back in Anger is one of my favorite songs of all time. It doesn’t sound as good on the record as it does in concert, but I wont hold that against it. Also, I’m a big fan of Hello, I think it’s a great opening track.
Least: She’s Electric, mostly because the lyrics are lame. Wonderwall, I didn’t like it the first time I heard it, I don’t like it on listen #234,455,553.
Overall: A great album start to finish. There are a couple of tracks that you could define as filler, there are a couple of tracks you could nitpick and define as derivative of other songs. You can love this if you want to and you can hate it if you want to. I choose to love it. 4.5 stars.
Alcohol: Sam Adams great smooth taste, not the bestest ever but certainly fking delicious. Oasis is to Soundgarden as Sam Adams is to Budweiser.
